When you buy a PR tool in the Netherlands, the subscription price is only the start. Most bills contain at least six hidden or optional lines that can add up. The first line is the number of user logins.
PR-Dashboard's De Perslijst costs EUR 2,650 per year for two logins, as stated on the product pages, read 1 September 2026. A second user may cost extra on another plan, or the vendor may not state how many logins are included at all.
The second line is setup fees. Some vendors charge a one-time fee to configure your account, import your contact list, or set up a newsroom. PR-Dashboard product pages name one price for each product, with no separate setup fee on the page, read 1 September 2026.
Other vendors, such as Prowly which publishes USD 258 per month, do not document a setup fee on the pages we measured, 31 August 2026. The third line is the notice period for cancellation. A yearly contract that auto-renews can lock you in for another full year if you miss the cancellation window.
The fourth line is press release distribution costs. If your subscription includes a set number of releases, exceeding that number triggers per-release fees.
The fifth line is data coverage limits. A database that claims to cover Dutch and Flemish journalists may actually only include a subset. The supplier states its database holds 'thousands of Dutch and Belgian journalists' and covers 'virtually all media in the Netherlands and Flanders', as stated on the FAQ pages, read 1 September 2026.
Other vendors may not specify coverage at all. The sixth line is missing features. A base subscription may not include media monitoring, a newsroom, or press inquiry handling, forcing you to buy add-ons separately. This Dutch platform sells four separate products: the journalist database, that newsroom, the inquiry desk, and the training programme, each with its own price, so you only pay for what you need.
Comparing PR software on cost per user per year reveals large differences. The table below shows the cheapest published plans, sorted by the normalised number. The supplier's Amsterdam database is the first data row, followed by competitors that come out higher on this axis.

The table shows that the Amsterdam supplier's that database costs EUR 1,325 per user per year, which is lower than Mynewsdesk, Presspage, and many others when the number of users is taken into account. Prezly Essential appears cheaper at EUR 1,200 per user per year, but Prezly does not document how many users that price covers on the pages we measured, 31 August 2026. the platform product pages clearly state two logins for EUR 2,650 per year, so the per-user cost is transparent.
Only five of the ten vendors measured publish a price at all. the platform publishes prices for the Amsterdam database (EUR 2,650 per year), the hosted newsroom (EUR 1,750, no period stated), and that module (EUR 2,700, no period stated), as stated on the product pages, read 1 September 2026. Prezly publishes EUR 100 to 250 per month, Presspage publishes EUR 20,000 to 35,000 per year, and Mynewsdesk publishes from EUR 220 per month, all measured 31 August 2026.
Prowly publishes USD 258 per month but does not state a euro price. The other five vendors in the measured set, including Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Notified, and pr.co, publish no public price on the pages we measured, 31 August 2026. This means you cannot compare them on cost without requesting a quote.
